Goodbye to a familiar place

AMR is closing its doors. I'm sure anyone who reads my blog has heard me talk about my love for the MB. Its been part of my life for almost 2 years. I am sad to say the doors are closing. (that just makes me cringe and brings tears to my eyes) I'd wake up and check on the MB before I did anything else. When my DH had thoracic and lumbar surgery, AMR was my lifeline to the outside world while I took care of him. If I wasn't creating I was reading and chatting with my fellow AMRer's. AMR has been my cyber home since I first joined in December 28,2007. I was member #49 out of 826 members. I have never felt such friendship, loyalty and the feeling that I've come home at any other MB....All Moments Remembered.

I bought faithfully from Stacey's online store All Moments Remembered. The store owner with heart is how we knew Stacey, she's become such a good friend to all of us. She'd include packets of goodies with our orders. She'd gift wrap the first few months of kits so we'd feel like it was Christmas when they arrived. She'd make us cards, tags and ATC's. Stacey is such a caring, tender hearted person and we all love her very much. Her friendship has always been appreciated.

I joined my first kit club at AMR. So much inspiration from the DT's. (another sad day when they closed the kit club) I created my first canvas at AMR. Went to my first crop at AMR. Created my first inchie and ATC at AMR. Lots of cyber firsts at AMR.

I started at CKMB originally and moved onto AMR. I’ve loved AMR, Stacey and all the members I come to know and am so glad I’m part of the family. (Thank you Stacey for creating AMR and for striving to keep a calm and loving MB) Even with the new move, we’re taking our MB family with us and I look forward to the years to come with SCRAP SISTER'S STUDIO MB (SSS) family. I look forward to the laughter, encouragement, friendships and the support that is offered when needed. I know if I need to talk about things, or need someones cyber shoulder to cry on - one of the members to all would be there for me. I know I can go to Scrap Sister's Studio MB and not have any conflict with the other members, no nastiness, fights or complaints. We expect or should I say demand that everyone be nice and not cause problems or they'll be banned from SSS. We even try to meet any MB members in our area or the area we're traveling through when possible. So, if you are looking for a great MB to spend your time at, to meet other creative people who enjoy sharing their ideas, their companionship and friendship-then come join us a SCRAP SISTER'S STUDIO MB. We have challenges, scrap chats, online crops, classes & techniques, and swaps.
Come register and make sure to fill in your interests so we know your human and not a robot. You will be approved as soon as the approval request gets to the administrators. And make sure to check back and log in to see if the approval has been completed. We look forward to meeting you.

2 NEW CANDY COATED SCRAPS LO'S

Here's two layouts I created using the Candy Coated Scraps newest kit, Fresh Mint. You can get Fresh Mint at Boutique-Diggiscrap.com. This kit has such soft and pretty greens. Lovely kit.

COLORBOK

I received a kit from Colorbok called English Meadow and here's what I created. These two pictures in the LO above are from our local lake. The tree line is where we walk. I'm so glad I decided to take a picture as we were walking, these turned out beautiful. I did some layering, sewing, distressing, inking and used my Home Accents Cricut cartridge. I even made a flower. See the material near the word lake, I used my Cuttlebug emboss folder (script) on it and it worked.

This is what the Colorbok kit looks like.

HONEST SCRAP AWARD

My friend, Chrispea/Work for Scraps from AMR gave me this award. The Honest Scrap Award! Thank you, Chris. As you said on your blog, I feel honored you picked me!

Here is how it works....

*Say thank you and give a link to the presenter of the award
*Share “10 Honest Things” about myself
*Present the award to 9 other bloggers whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design or to those who have encouraged me
*Be sure to tell the 9 bloggers chosen that you are giving them the Honest Scrap award and provide the guidelines for them

Here are my 10 honest things........

1. I didn't think it would bother me but when I turned 50 last month, it hit me hard a few days after my bday. Aging doesn't bother me normally, its a natural process. I've been a Mema for 7 years so I knew I was getting older. My kids are 28 & 30 and I have another grandchild due in January. Turning 30 & 40 didn't bother me either. Maybe because its a half way mark in life. Well, I hope I live another 50 years!

2. My family is the most important thing to me. I probably don't let them know that enough, but I love all of them dearly.

3. I love to scrap, create & take pictures. It is so rewarding to take pictures of my family together and then be able to sit down, create a layout or album and tell the story of that day or event. Then to look through the album, read the notes or little stories that go with a certain day-I relive the moment, brings a smile to my heart.

4. I graduated mid-term and was able to walk with my graduating class

5. I wanted to be a lawyer when I graduation but knew I was lousy at arguments so had decided to be a teacher. But, getting pregnant a couple years after getting married and then again 1-1/2 years later just made it hard.

6. When I was a teenager, we traveled all over the United States. My Dad was a well known dragracer (Granddaddy Joe Smith/King Rat) in the 70's and we went to most of the races. (that was his job!) And he was very good at it. He was THE MAN to beat in those days!

7. I feel very fortunate to have some very special friends that I've met at All Moments Remembered and online through scrapbooking, cardmaking and my stamp craze. I learned some valuable lessons and was encouraged to create. And the inspiration was amazing and still is.

8. When computers came out I said I'd never use one. My Dad was trying to get me to try his but I refused. Then, I asked if I could borrow his lap top. I found All Moments Remembered and couldn't turn back. My DH bought me an iMac a few years back and I've been online ever since.

9. I broke my ankle 8 days before Christmas and didn't get surgery until a couple days after we opened our presents. The only good thing about that time was spending time with my family and my DD cooking Christmas dinner....

10. I'm addicted to blogs, blog candy & crops. I've commented on alot of blogs and did scrap page contests to be eligible, even won a few. And crops push me along in creativity when Mr. Mojo has left the building.. LOL

OK, now I get to pick 9 bloggers that I admire. I admire them for lots of reasons. Creativity, strength, humor...
