Flower blooms

Gabrielle Pollacco has a tutorial on how to create recycled dryer sheet blooms on her blog.. Their really easy to make too.

Here's some that I made today.  The one in the center is made with kleenex tissue {scrunch it to make it more demensional}, the top and lower right flowers were made with recycled dryer sheets, the one on the top left is made with ribbon and the one on the lower left is made with tulle.

I love you!

This is my nephew's wife and daughter at her bday party in January.  She was not happy that she had to sit down again when all she wanted to do was run around.  But when she found out that it was time to open presents, she was more than happy to sit in the chair.  I got a little carried away with hanging charms in a variety of materials.

MY LO IS BEING FEATURED AT SCRAPBOOKING.COM

Did you know that SCRAPBOOKING.COM has an online magazine?  {You can click the link I've provided or the banner in my right sidebar that looks like the one below}  You'll find ideas, projects, layouts, articles with supplies and directions, product demos, even a gallery.  You can also create photo books to order.

I'm so excited, one of my digital layouts was picked to be featured in the baby section with 2 other scrapbookers.  "IT'S THE LITTLE MOMENTS THAT MAKE LIFE BIG".  {click on step by step directions to read everythin}  Video of my lo and 2 other scrappers lo's.  My DGS {he's 1 now} with his helmet on while riding on the quad with his poppy.  But you only see DGS in the lo.  He had so much fun during his first time riding on the quad.  You wouldn't believe how many photo's I took.
The last time he rode with his Daddy and the whole time he made engine noises..  It's funny, he concentrated so hard on the engine noises that we couldn't get him to smile.

Layout for Scrapadilly's Crop

Here's a lo I did for the bad photo challenge..  When I had this printed, I didn't realize that the pixels were so low and it would have that pixelated fuzzy look.  This is our 1st DGS, Jordan.  He's riding his quad that Poppy and Mema bought him for his 3rd birthday.  He loved it..  Photo was taken June 2005.

My New Storage Unit + New Traditional LO

I bought this from STORAGE UNITS INK.  This unit is called the Ultimate and cost about $95.00 (includes s/h).  Normally the side that has the lace/trim hanging from it will have pegs for ink wells but since I don't own any ink wells, I had them leave that off.  I added some gold metal hooks to hang the lace/trim from jump rings.. My scissors and distress tool are the same..  I mentioned to the owner that I use Tim Holtz ink, reinkers and alcohol inks.  Its really made for a longer ink container.. But, since the Tim Holtz inks are square, I plan on getting some sponges at the $1 store and cutting them to the same width as the slot and placing that behind the inks I have so they'll be closer to the edge..  I LOVE MY STORAGE UNIT..  Has storage on top too for my cuttlebug, cats eyes, momento reinkers, etc.

This is the description from the web site.......
This is the first upgraded unit. It holds 48 ink pads, 32 ink wheels, and 48 re-inkers all mounted on a lazy susan base for easy access to all four sides. There is a top tray to store all of your smaller items.

This unit is made out of solid pine, nicely trimmed, and ready for you to stain any color of your choice. There are two handles on the unit to make moving your supplies a breeze.

All of this fits into a 12" x 12" x 16" space.

Saving old original photo prints or scrapping them???

I've read on forums or on blogs that you should save your original photo prints, put them in a fire safe deposit box, home fire safe or even at someone's house.  You should use copies of your original prints when scrapbooking..

I have a problem with this theory.  First of all, I really don't have the space to store boxes of photos.  Old or new.. I barely have room for the albums I scrap.  Second, no one looks at the older photos because their tucked away in a box and stored where you forget about them..  So I usually scrap the original old photos of past relatives... Especially since I'm the only one in the family on my side that scraps.  Besides, they'll be preserved in my albums.  And new photos, I have 20 thousand on my imac and manage to copy them to dvd.  {no ehd yet}  So theirs no way I could keep that many original prints.

I use my original photos that I've found in my Mom's stored boxes after she passed..  She had them in an outside storage area and I'm really surprised they survived at all.  I haven't seen most of the photos before and some were of when we were younger.

What do you do with your older photos?  Store them in albums, boxes, CD, DVD or EHD or scrap them?

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

I'm finding that I'm not keeping up on this blog because I'm doing digi on my P365 and have a separate blog for that.  I've been working on two traditional layouts but have yet to finish them and post on this blog.  Hopefully, I'll be able to do that tonight.
Had our DS and his girl, along with their DS.  I cooked Pazola for dinner and it was so yummy! Gave them some to take home too.  Our DD had bought some chips and salsa from La Casita and that was a great addition to our meal.    I plan on cooking Relleno's in a few days and hopefully they will be coming over for that too.  We always enjoy it when they come over for a visit.
So today I'm not cooking, we're having leftovers and it will be a lazy day for me.  Whooo Hooooo! Hope everyone has a great Sunday!!!
