Another digi for PL 2012, Christmas

Recipe Album

Here is a recipe album that I made using some sleeves that you place the 8"x11" papers in to protect them, I get a box at Costco... with some jump rings to hold it all together.    Its been sitting in my kitchen with no cover for at least a year and holds the pinterest recipes that I've tried or am going to try....  So last night, I took some 12x12 cardboard from an old DCWV pad {cut to size} and made the front and back cover.  Then added 2-12x12 sheets from the Vintage Collage Stack from DCWV, cut to size and added a key to the jump ring.. Nothing fancy, but I like the way it turned out...  Also added the same paper that was used on the back cover to the inside front cover to add favorite recipes or notes to...  Just added the word Recipes to a strip of the same cardboard that has a piece of the back cover paper glued to it...  Sometimes simple is the best way to go...TFL

Are you ready for Thanksgiving Day?

We finally did our grocery shopping for Thanksgiving Day.  The store was crowded but luckily they had all the check stands open so we didn't have a long wait.  My DH is going to cook the turkey on the BBQ {love, love that he does that} and I will cook the rest of our dinner in the house...  I'm really looking forward to eating some turkey and all the trimmings...Especially spending time with our family.

Are you ready for Christmas?  We've got some presents for the grandkids and will do some more shopping at the beginning of December.  I'll be putting the tree up and a few decorations on December 1st.  Just need to figure out where the tree is going.

Here's 2 new digi layouts

I'm participating in an online crop that one of the mb's I frequent is having.   I decided to do the layouts in digital since I'm in a traditional scrapbooking slump.

This first one is of our DS when is was a baby and today.  He is an amazing man and father!!

This layout is of our grand-daughter, June.  Our daughter {an awesome Mommy!} took this photo after she dressed June up for the ride to take June's brother, Jordan to school.  She's fascinated by her booties.

LO of oldest DGS

Here's a lo I finished from a crop I'm participating in right now.  Its of my oldest DGS playing with one of his kites but he's not flying it from a string into the air.  He's using it as wings for himself.. So cute to see him use his imagination this way.

New traditional lo's

Here are some new lo's I created in the last couple of days..  I've been wanting to do Project Life but really don't have the money to buy the kit so I decided to take the first Project Life Kit I bought apart to use for the 2013 year.  {red PL}  I had on a couple months done on the original pl and never finished it because we were having money difficulties and couldn't afford to get my photos printed nor afford any ink.  So it is easier to just scrap those photos and start over.  These lo's contain those photos..

Huge Tomato Worm

This is the BIGGEST tomato worm I've ever seen on one of my plants.  He was hiding really good to get this big.  LOL  They are so ugly and look like a curled tomato leaf when blending into the foliage.  Gives me the creeps.  My DH found him on one of my pear tomato plants when I showed him the damage.  He actually did alot more damage than it showed but I had cut some off the plants already, doing clean up.

My New Tattoo LO

Heres a lo I did to document my newest tattoo.  Those are my grandbabies.  Natalie Zillner, the tattoo artist hand drew the picture after I told her what I'd like and then did the tattoo.  She is an amazing artist and tattooist.

New lo, Theresa Collins Sweet Afternoon

Heres a lo I created yesterday using some Theresa Collins Sweet Afternoon, Prima Vintage Trinkets,  Authentique Cheerful paper & word art sheets, Tim Holtz and Jenni Bowlin Daubers, Echo Park Bundle of Joy Sticker Accents and a It's A Girl Announcement Card {have no idea who makes them}.  The ribbon is from a gift bag, lace is from either A Million Memories or an etsy shop from a couple years ago.

I wanted to show everyone what you can do with brushes in pse.  I created this forest scene paper using brushes from Skeletel Mess {Tree & birds}, Brushbreezy {Beyond the mist, foliage & fantasy brush clouds} and using the fill background for the background paper.  It easy to do switching the colors, you can use shadowing if you want and beveling too.  I created this paper for a lo I did of our trip to Calico Ghost Town for my Project 365 that I'm doing digitally.

Last challenge completed, advertisement challenge

Yay!!  I finished all of the challenges at Scrapadilly's, It's A Jungle Out There crop..  We had to do a dbl pager lo and take inspiration from an advertisement that they had posted.  This is what I came up with.

Rough Around The Edges Challenge

For this challenge we had to distress the edges, so I did that on the background paper.

I used some filters in pse on my mac.  {chalk/charcoal and another that I can't remember.  also changed the color}
I used a digital stamp from Digital Designers.
Sorry, can't remember what grunge mask I used.

For this challenge, we're supposed to scrap about an animal.  {real or imagined, etc.}  I decided to create a lo about our female boxer, Pebbles.

This is a challenge that one of our mb members set up on her own and has now become part of the crop challenge.  Part of her challenge is to use your old stash and if your doing digi, an old kit.  I used an older Weeds & Wildflowers kit for my lo.

So, we're supposed to create a lo using a bad picture {too dark, blurry, etc.}  I chose this photo just because my skin tone is so red, other than that I really like this photo.

LO using Teresa Collins Sweet Afternoon

I bought a monthly kit by Teresa Collins, Sweet Afternoon.  It came with a mini album, pp and embellies but I decided I wanted to use the pp/embellies for my 12x12 lo's of our newest lil granddaughter.  

The background pp is a lt grey and has flower outlines, so I colored in the outlines with some Tim Holtz daubers.

Needles to say, I haven't been in the scrapping mood or blogging mood.  {sorry}  A death in the family{bil}, DD/DGS moving out , redoing 2 rooms and moving my Dadum's in, a new baby {w/trips to a neo natal unit}, hot/muggy weather and no mojo means I didn't do a dang thing.  I have a crop on Saturday, so hopefully my mojo will magically appear by then.

My First Scrapbook Generations LO

It's from the May Super Sketch Club.  I did change the 2nd page a little and love how it turned out.  I cut a couple word strips too short but its not too noticeable.
